# My city is surrounded by wind turbines.
That's mainly good thing because about 30% of households in the city are powered by them. We also have hydro power plant but these turbines are making large part of electricity source. This morning I drove around to take some photos and some GIF-s materials.

# This is very windy place.
The air is calm very rarely. But their effectiveness is actually low, somewhere around 25%. That is really low to compare to hydro power plant which has effectiveness around 80%. The source of this energy is renewable so, we are lucky not to have any thermal power plants or nuclear power plants around. And each hill you look at is now ruled by these wind turbines.

# But still, something bad happens to the environment.  
Trees are not growing there anymore, the pines are kinda dry. You can't see any birds around these wind turbines anymore. And they haven't reduced the price of electric energy so, I guess it's all the same like 10 years ago.

# You need special permission to get closer to the wind turbines. So, this is all you will get!
Once I got that permission and saw a lot of dead crows and seagulls, definitely not scenes that I would share on Steemit! So now, I don't know are these 70 meters tall wind giants good thing or bad thing! When you realize that we don't have any financial benefits, it's probably more bad than good. And we have this hydro power plant that is able to cover the whole city and more with it's capacities.
