Sometimes I like to meditate on words that don't seem to be understood.   It seems words are simply symbols twice removed from the real thing or concept perceived.  First there is the word, and then there is the idea of what the word describes, and finally there is the thing or concept itself.  In this respect all words are somewhat removed from the thing they are trying to represent.  I note that there are some words in the dictionary that don't seem to have a clear definition for me - like the definition of the word Thought, or Love.  If you look up these definitions they seem to have circular references to the same thing that is ultimately undefined.  For example the definition of thought may be a concept or idea.  And if you look up concept or idea, they can refer back to the word thought.  I notice that when I meditate on such words, that my mind seems to stop or go haywire.  It's almost like what Robbie the Robot did in the movie Forbidden Planet when he was asked to harm someone against his inbred programming to do no harm to humans, and sparks just began to fly across his circuitry.  After all it is a bit much to ask a thought to describe itself to itself.
