Team behind Sonic Mania founds Evening Star
Great games in the future! Promises have been made. Truth  be told, it sounds trustworthy.

They want to make great new games with AAA gameplay by using a different workflow, where every employee has an active voice about ongoing and future projects. Throughly experienced, their plans include not only retro style products, but also much more modern and creative games through their greatly updated Retro Engine, now called Star Engine.

It all started with Christian Whitehead, who is now the creative director and lead architect engine's architect, and is highly acclaimed fangame - Retro Sonic. Thanks to it's popularity and fan support, he got involved with more Sonic projects, until his faithful but renewed Sonic CD remake attracted SEGA's attention.

Unfortunately, his well-deserved success made him change his mind about releasing his Retro Engine SDK to the public. But we can't complain, afterall it turned into the man's job. Which he is *great* at.  We might not even have Sonic Mania today otherwise. Which brings me to wonder... What will Evening Star bring outside the Sonic franchise? Fingers crossed! The hype is strong in this one.

Finally beat the final level in sonic mania last weekend! I always felt sonic wasn't as good as you wanted it to be, but mania was as good as you used to hope it would be.
