My Lockdown Series - Day 17

Thursday is here with us one more time, and like that say Thursdays are good days for flash backs, and so on Thursday most of the posts you see around on whatsapp and other social media are Throw back Thursday (TBT). They find one way or the other to tell us how their past days, weeks, months, or years that we never got to see. And for the few times that I have been in contact with some of these posts around, they look really fun to watch.

Gradually, our partial lockdown had its 17th day yesterday and as usual I am here to give you all the gist around my end and in some parts of my country Ghana. To start with, yesterday in my blog I told you guys about how things were going sideways over here especially in the various market centers. Fortunately there was something positive about the whole situation yesterday.



As I woke yesterday and was on the radio, I got to know that the authorities in charge of these market women (sellers) have finally made some strict rules to battle over the social distancing as I explained in my post yesterday. The board finally came up with three additional places where these sellers would be moving to to perform all kinds of trades they want. The laid down rules were very laudable for all to accept and many who phoned in were of the view that it was for the best and they do accept.

The second burning issue on ground was about a bus that was stopped from entering my region because it had loads of people who were migrating from other regions that had confirmed cases. And in as much as our regional minister didn’t want to accept them in our region, she had to move all of them to one of the isolation centers here to be checked first since, the bus had three people who were natives from the region.



After all necessary tests were done to check their temperature they all were safe but still had to let only the three natives stay while the rest were escorted back to their region where they came from. From the regional minister, she promised to do her best in other not to let the virus come around my region at all, and so she would have to stay on certain ground to act even if it hurts a group, for we are not in the normal times again but the abnormal.
Listening to all that was said, I know all the authorities and any other stakeholder are watching every corner to make such we are free from the spread of the virus. 



Moving away from my region, there were these news moving around that, the vulnerable people who lived in some affected areas of the partial lockdown in the greater Accra region, were not given foods that was promised by the government to be distributed. Many persons complained that, some are making the sharing of relief items political and if you were never a member of the sitting political government then you have no chance of getting these relief items.



But after some checks on the ground, it happened not to be so but people just create scenes around. The items were given to everyone and not to some specific group of people as rumors had around. I think this is where time will let me end, but just know any hot gist for today will be delivered live in my blog tomorrow.
