Implementation of the North Aceh Traditional Marriage

 1. Cah Rauh

 Cah Rauh is the initial stage of parent / family introduction between the two parties. In the tradition of North Aceh Marriage, Cah Rauh is carried out by relatives or persons trusted by the families of prospective Linto Baros, also called Seulangkee. When visiting the house of prospective Dara Baro, Seulangkee brought jaroe jarung such as sugar, tea, coffee, milk, canned bread. Some things discussed and questioned by Seulangkee in this process are:

 - Explain the purpose of Seulangkee's arrival;

 - Is the candidate Dara Baro still single (has not yet received someone's proposal);

 - Is Dara Baro candidate willing to be nominated by Linto Baro candidate.

 2. Jak Meulakee (Jak Peuteunte)

 After the Cah Rauh customary procession is carried out, the next step is Jak Meulakee. Jak Meulakee was conducted by Seulangkee, Linto Baro's father and Ureung Tuha Gampong. Things discussed in this process are:

 - Determine how many jeulamee;

 - When will the Mee Ranub (Ba Tanda) process be carried out;

 - How many groups of mee ranub.

 Jaroe flowers such as sugar, tea, coffee, milk, canned bread (the same as when Cah Rauh) made the arrival of the Jak Meulakee group more modest.

 3. Mee Ranub (Ba Sign)

 Mee Ranub's entourage consisted of family members, Guardians of the Linto Baro, Ureung Tuha Gampong and Seulangkee. In this process, further determined regarding the wedding plan (determining the wedding date or determining the length of the grace period). If the marriage time is determined at the same time as the preh linto time, then the Mee Ranub procession will also determine how many groups will be Intat Linto later. The list of items that are mandatory in this custom is:

 - Ranub Batee

 - Gold (engagement ring), placed in the base which is covered with five kinds of seeds such as pumpkin seeds ie, pumpkin tanoh, pik seedlings, reuteuk, turmeric, etc. (plant seeds, preferably spreading plants). This implies that the Mee Ranub process is the initial stage of the process of introducing the human child which is likened to a plant seed that will later live, grow and breed give birth to generation after generation that is sustainable. Some of the engagement rings that were brought were given as gifts or adjusted to the total amount of jeulame.

 - Dumplings in dalong such as dodoi, meuseukat, wajek, keukarah, bhoi, etc. (according to family economic conditions and appropriateness).

 - Ija Bajee sigoe treun which is placed in a tray containing sugar, coffee, milk, canned bread, lemonade / fanta / etc. With around it a 21 pack of ranup ranup. This Ranup wrap will then be handed over to the guardians of Dara Baro, Geuchik, Imum and Ureung Tuha Gampong as a notification that his daughter already has a candidate for Linto Baro.

 4. Marriage

 Some marriages take place at the mosque, the KUA office and at Dara Baro's house. If it is done at Dara Baro's house, it has previously been communicated between the two parties about the number of Linto Baro's entourage who will be present at the wedding. The wedding room is more simply decorated using tablecloths, mattresses, bed linen, dalong bu leukat and dalong on seunijuk as well as mat seating for the peaken Linto party. At this stage, the group also brought some equipment such as:

 - Ranub bate;

 - Gold (dowry / remaining dowry) placed in a batee wrapped in a yellow cloth;

 - Trays filled with sugar, coffee, milk, canned bread, lemonade / fanta / etc.

 - Dumplings in dalong such as dodoi, meuseukat, wajek, keukarah, bhoi, etc. (according to family economic conditions and appropriateness).

 - Just bajee sigoe treun (say krong, say baje, say sawak, silop)

 (About 3 (three) days before the preh Linto event at Dara Baro's house, the Linto Baro delegate will send necessities such as rice and money (according to economic capacity and appropriateness) as well as on gaca. . On the gaca, some mashed and partly weeded by removing the leaf bone. Smooth gaca on and then wrapped in birah leaves and on gaca that has been weeded wrapped in on teulayu. (banana leaf).

 5. Preh Linto Baro

 - The Preh Linto Baro event was an inauguration party at Dara Baro's parents' house. When Linto Baro arrived at Dara Baro's parents' house, then Seumapa, who was the opening greeting for the arrival of the Linto entourage, would begin. Both parties usually have prepared people who have expertise in the field of Seumapa

 - After completing it, the appointed officers from both parties will do Tuka Batee and Tuka Payong. This indicates that the Linto Baro entourage was received by Dara Baro.

 - The event then continued with Ranup Lampu dance to welcome the Linto Baro entourage. After the Ranup Lampu dance, Linto will be led to the front door of Dara Baro's parents' house (here, the Dara Baro and Dara Baro families are waiting by the door).

 - Once Linto Baro arrives, the family of Dara Baro's party will geupeubreuh padee Linto Baro. Furthermore, Ms. Peuganjo will wash Linto Baro's feet. After that, Linto will be brought to the marriage to be paired with Darabaro and be guided by Mrs. Imum (Elder of the Indigenous Women). Peusijuk by Ibu Imum indicated that Linto Baro had been accepted as a new resident in the village. While Linto and Dara Baro were guided, in-laws guests were welcome and arranged to occupy the in-room dishes. The number of guests in-law is adjusted to the size of the room, usually ± 20 people. (Dishes for in-laws guests are special dishes and are slightly different from outside dishes).

 - After the guests in-law, Linto and Dara Baro finished eating, then Ranup Sigapu and Narit Sinambot, which was a procession of Linto Baro's traditional handover and handover from Linto to Dara Baro. Ranup Sigapu and Narit Sinambot are usually carried out by ureung tuha / entrusted persons from both parties who are experts in this field.

 - Finish Ranup Sigapu and Narit Sinambot, then Linto Baro will be patronized by the Dara Baro family (Mamak's brother and Dara Baro's father) in a determined number of oddities.

 - The next procession is Peutujoh, which is carried out in this custom is besan peuturi (householder) from Dara Baro to Linto Baro. When greeting Linto Baro, the family from Dara Baro was ready with aso jaroe (greeting paste). Especially for Dara Baro's mother, during the introduction they prepared sinalen (cloth or sarong) and gold (usually a 1-ring) to give to Linto Baro.

 In the Preh Linto Program, in addition to the customs as mentioned above, there is also the Custom also namely the custom to plant sprouts (u timoh) that have been brought by Linto Baro. In the past, this custom was also carried out in the morning the next day, but along with the times by keeping in mind the family's busyness and changing lifestyle in today's society, the custom was also carried out on Preh Linto.

 In the Intat Linto event, the Intat Linto group had prepared supplies and items to be given to Dara Baro in the form of:

 - U Timoh, which is a coconut that has sprouted (usually 2 pieces) as a symbol that today is the starting point for building the family ark and is expected to grow like a coconut tree growth where each part has benefits and nothing is wasted.

 - Peuleuman aso, its contents are padee leukat (glutinous rice), pumpkin tarok and ranub tarok (pumpkin shoots and betel shoots). Put in peuleuman (like a ceramic bowl), later this peuleuman will be placed under the bed of the bridal chamber. A symbol of this is that family life begins slowly, it will continue to grow and take root in the community so be like a pumpkin or betel that can adapt to any conditions and remain prominent even in the bush.

 - Clothing, religious equipment, cosmetics, sandals / shoes, toiletries, underwear, etc.

 - Peurakan, which is Aceh's traditional rumoh which contains lemonade, sugar, milk, tea, coffee, washing soap (for washing the kenduri dishes), light food. These items are usually distributed to geuchik, imum, ureung tuha gampong and children as a sign of friendship from the Linto party.

 - U teulason, which is not young and not old, shelled but still has some skin. This coconut is intended for cooking ingredients at Dara Baro's house, the next day when cleaning is finished the Preh Linto event. Usually for cooking ingredients leumak sauce.

 - Meuteundon bananas, which are dressed bananas. In the past, the bananas that were brought were banana klat barat (plantains). Its use is the same as u teulason. These bananas can be used as food / snacks (fried bananas, leughok, etc.) when they work.

 - Teubee Meu'on, which is sugar cane which has leaves. This cane will be distributed to children whose mothers take part in helping the processors at Dara Baro's house so that they will not interfere with their mother's work.

 6. Intat Dara Baro

 - Intat Dara Barao That is the customary process of taking Dara Baro to Linto Baro's house. Usually done 1 (one) day after the Preh Linto Baro event. In this custom, there are a number of equipment brought by Dara Baro's entourage to the Linto Baro family, namely:

 1. Ranup batee

 Cake in dalong such as dodoi, meuseukat, wajek, keukarah, bhoi, etc. (according to family economic conditions and properness). Better as much as possible

 - Before Dara Baro is brought into the Linto's parents 'house, Dara Baro will be seated in a chair placed at the door of Linto's parents' house for geupeubreuh padee by a local Indigenous Women's Elder and washed her feet by the mother of Peuganjoo (accompanying / taking care of Dara Baro).

 - Then Dara Baro will geupeugapit ie in serahi which is the custom of carrying water placed in a bottle-shaped container. Then shake hands and hand over the bottle serahi to Mak Tuan (Mother-in-law). While guided by Mak Tuan, Dara Baro headed for the aisle.

 - On the altar, Dara Baro was guided by the Linto Baro family (Brothers of Bapak and Brothers of Mamak Linto Baro). Then Linto, Dara Baro and a group of in-laws guests were invited to eat an in-laws meal.

 - Peulhuek eumpang breuh, the next customary procession. By the Traditional Elder of Women on Linto Baro's side, Dara Baro's hand was taken and put into a breed pond (a gondet which was filled with rice, on top of the rice a glass was placed inside containing salt and eggs at the top) while given the message "nyoe pat hai aneuk, breuh mangat ta tagun, ta bri keu Tuan teuh, keu Lako baro ta pajoh keudroe ”

 - Then Mamak Linto will deliver glass, plates, spoons, bowls and kobokan to Dara Baro as Linto cutlery later. While the equipment was handed over by Ms. Linto, Ms. Peuganjoo said "nyoe pat hai aneuk, a cup of ngen pingan gata, nyh lhok tab oh the soup that is deoh taboh sira"

 - Just like the Preh Linto custom, at the Preh Dara Baro event there is also the Seumah Tuan custom, here the Tuan Tuan is also a geumeubri, usually a gold ring or gold brooch. After that, Dara Baro will be introduced to the entire Linto Baro family while shaking hands (greeting sticky).

 That's all
