So I am on a trip to Laos now.  Going to go get a new Thailand visa as is tradition for all of us that live in this country.  I have never done this in Laos so it will all be a new experience for me - which is fine, i like those.

So to start things off I have to say that my own town's airport is pretty disgraceful from an international standpoint (it is an international airport)

For starters when you first arrive they have a vehicle security checkpoint and the "drive through" at the entrance is less than 100 meters from the stoplight intersection.  Since there is only one lane this meant that the queue was backed up into the middle of the intersection, blocking traffic.  Get it together guys!  Who thought this was a good idea?

Then once arriving in the parking lot it is apparent that the people who work here and the bus / taxis that are here just kind of park wherever they feel like it with impunity.  There is no enforcement of any sort and while it is not difficult to find a place to park for me (I'm on a motorbike) i would imagine that anyone in a car would lose their minds.  There are nowhere near enough parking spots nor does there appear to be any attempts to create one.  This is why the minivans are parked in the middle of the damn street, blocking traffic even more.

Then once you get inside it is even more fun.

It is extremely crowded in here and very few of the "lanes" were even open to assist in getting things moving for passengers.  You would think that since a vast majority of travelers book well ahead of time that they would realize that a lot of people were coming at this time and prepare accordingly.

Also, it is only 7 am and it is already unbearably hot in here.  There is water all over the floor dripping from the ceiling coming from the air conditioning that is clearly broken or at a minimum, not functioning properly.

I'm just taking a short flight to Bangkok before I get on my international flight and I certainly hope that things improve from this point forward.  I can't imagine that it could get any worse.

Look, traveling by air is a pain and is already stressful enough without this sort of added lack of organization and staffing.  So fare
