## As the title says, EA has paid an enormous amount of money to twitch-celebrity streamer Ninja

Here is what we know about the case:
* Ninja got 1 million dollars for streaming and tweeting about Apex Legends on launch day, February 4th
* Other content creators were engaged  as well with paid promotions from EA
* After 5th midday there were no more supported streams by the game publisher

Ninja has 1.3 million twitch followers and as he told CNN he earns normally around 500k a month. 

### Was it worth it?
My first thought of this topic was that I could not see how was it beneficial to spend that amount of money on just one streamer to stream the game on launch day. I mean yeah sure, a lot of people are going to watch him, but not all of them are going to download the game and even less % is going to spend money on it. (Since if you did not know, Apex Legends is free to play)

And actually, I was not terribly wrong, most likely that was not a good short time investment, but that was not its purpose either. 
Since there were so many promoted streams by the greatest faces of twitch at the same time, Apex became the most watched game for days. The hype got real. For example, when I first saw it I was quite skeptical and since I do not like battle royale games I did not even download it. But when I experienced that its popularity remained at a high level I decided to try it out - and now it is one of my favorite games. (although I am really bad at it he-he)

The point I am trying to make here is that because everybody was talking about it and everybody was playing it, the hype dragged in so many players and made this game a huge success. *The investment was worth it.*
If you want something to be successful you have to raise awareness about it. This is also true for **STEEM**.
