##    Talking Heads - *A Clean Break (Let's Work)*

## Talking Heads are one of the
most original and influential rock bands ever, who helped to really push the boundaries of popular music over their 16 year career.  The band was formed in 1975 in New York City, with the 'classic' 4 piece line up consisting of David Byrne (lead vocals, guitar), Chris Frantz (drums), Tina Weymouth (bass), and Jerry Harrison (keyboards, guitar) ([Source, Wikipedia - Talking Heads](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talking_Heads)).  Over the years, the band would add a number of members, particularly for their live gigs in the 1980s, incorporating multiple guitars, keyboards, horns, and various percussion elements.  Their early sound has been called 'new-wave', though that is sort of a catch-all term for anything that was new and original in the late '70s, but wasn't explicitly punk.

## This is a live track that was
never recorded in studio.  It first appeared on their 1982 double LP, ***The Name of This Band is Talking Heads***, and has since been on a number of compilations, which is where I first discovered it.  Generally, I'm not a fan of live recordings, as they are often missing some of the elements added in production, but this song (and the album as a whole) is just incredible.  The song is catchy and super well written, and has one of my favorite vocal lines from any band or artist; Byrne's rising vocal line in the Chorus is so good, you can't help but get into the song.
