Helped me remember...

# I forgot and this is my attempt at remembering it.

  I told myself the following. Self, write these ideas down or else you are going to forget. I responded to myself with much confidence. 

Self, I'm turning the computer on right now to write it. I won't forget. Then I forgot, so, I did the next logical step in attempts to remember my writing topics.

Scrolling through some albums, I noticed I haven't used this one in a while. It was taken at random, it was black and white, and I decided to go with it. I should have been a wrist model, lol. 

After selecting this masterpiece of a picture. I still couldn't remember the topics. So, I did the next logical step in attempts to remember my writing topics.

As you can see this isn't going too well. Then it hits me, I ***REMEMBERED [one](https://steemit.com/life/@kubbyelizabeth/the-struggle-is-real) of the two topics.*** Comes to mind. I take a break and write, [The struggle is real.](https://steemit.com/life/@kubbyelizabeth/the-struggle-is-real) Then I come back to finish this post. I know there was one more and since this is/was going so well, why stop now? I'm halfway through writing this ramble. I already selected a picture and a ***TITLE***. What is the next logical step in attempts to remember my *other* writing topic?

I have a folder dedicated to all my signatures created for me. There are a few, I haven't used in a while and after checking there are a few I have lost too. There are a few pictures of haven't used in a while that I might cycle back through and use in my post. All this wonderfulness, but I couldn't find any of my original signatures. So, I did the next logical step in attempts to remember my writing topics.

Great news, I deleted a ton of old pictures! Plus, while cleaning out my photo albums, I saw a picture that helped me remember. This picture is from last year that inspired me to write the [post](https://steemit.com/life/@kubbyelizabeth/solution-to-the-new-years-resolution) that I told myself to write down in order to not forget, but then I did forget. Well, I wrote those post and found this gem. This is my silly process, what is yours?

##  What is your process of remembering what you forgot? Are you a note taker or an I'll remember sayer? I hope I've remembered to be more of a note taker then an I'll remember sayer.

With open arms, the love comes pouring in. That is such a wonderful and cheerful image. 

It is always an awful feeling when you know you have forgotten something and it feels like it was rather important. As such I try and keep paper and pen nearby. When I have forgotten something completely my best method is just to move on. It will come wandering back to me at some point. Sometimes a month later when it’s no longer any use to me.


I often forget things unless I create a title and least leave myself a couple of sentences in what I want to create. I’ll still forget things and sometimes I just don’t recall enough of a direction to get the ball rolling. If I really want to get an idea for certain I just have to stop everything and get it all done. That usually leaves me up till 4 or 5 in the morning. 

Then I have cases where I have quite a number of ideas floating around in my head. As soon as I try and write a word of one of them down it just vanishes. Entire full-blown stories went in an instant. Sometimes I day dream  little to much.

I need to do a better job of that writing part. Sometimes it comes back sometimes it doesn't.  Last night for example, my mind was running and I almost wrote a full post in my mind. I wish I had written  it down because now I can't think of it all.

I have that happen at last once a week. I have one that's been stuck in back of my mind for 3 weeks now. Always shows up right before I'm about to fall to sleep. It's all there including what imagines I need to find for it. I'll catch it one of these days!

I'm pretty sure I remember at least most things if not everything, I just have indexing issues XD I have notes.  Lots of notes.  Everywhere.  And the ones that are on scraps of paper tend to get lost.  I should probably get a book to stick them in as I rarely lose books (the kids on the other hand, I swear gorc eats them or something).

Most of my posting issues are time-related rather than memory related though x_x

Your process is amusing, possibly silly but hey if it works ;D

Love this post! 

Since I am the type of person that will spend half an hour looking for my sunglasses only to remember they are on my head *(after passing by a mirror, that is!)*, I am a note taker. Even learned to keep a pen and notepad by the bed for when I get hit with lightning strikes of genius that wake me in the middle of the night.

Then the problem becomes trying to decipher the chicken scratch I create at 2 in the morning when I am half asleep and the likely genius was some random dream that even Freud would have problems analyzing.

But at least it's a method! 🤣
