THERE IS A CRACK IN EVERYTHING

<p>The sun has just broken through the clouds- after a seemingly endless&nbsp;several days of rain and dreariness.. The sun shines with all the promise of the colors that suddenly pop, when its rays hit them at just the right angle. &nbsp;It shines with the promise of a brighter day...even if nothing in the daily circumstance has changed.</p>

<p>I have come to realize that when &nbsp;circumstances don't change, we have to make &nbsp;internal shifts in ourselves. This translates into making &nbsp;conscious decisions to change the way we see or perceive things and events; to adjusting or readjusting expectations... not always easy to do... but well worth it if &nbsp;seeing our world through a different lens helps our orientation to life.</p>
<p>&nbsp;More than once, I have heard the expression said: "we can plan plans, but not outcomes"; &nbsp;this really resonates with me. A simple wisdom, but a complicated truth. The sooner we learn the art and humility of &nbsp;<em>acceptance, </em>the easier our lives become. If we can let go of the noise in our heads of disappointment, frustration and anger ( the toxic emotions that drain energy), then we have emotional space to let the good stuff in.&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;There is a line in the Leonard Cohen song "Anthem", which cycles through my consciousness very often: "there is a crack, a crack in everything... that's how the light gets in"...</p>
<p><strong>&nbsp;Sometimes, instead of seeing the "crack", we need to see the "light"!</strong></p>
