<h2>Who's In Charge...</h2>

**Like animals, we humans have been coded with instincts..,** and considering we are primates, many of those instincts are primitive -- they are in our DNA. But through evolution we have learned to deal with these baser human instincts, understanding they are not the best of our true nature. After all, I think most would agree (there used to be a consensus) the greed, anger, fear, jealousy, etc. etc… *are not the most flattering characteristics humans have to offer...*

Once we started to run this country like a business (D-bag Ronald Reagan).., and not a country -- *it's like we took our boot and put it on the throat of evolution…* Don't get me wrong, people still continued to evolve.., except a large part of the country (larger than I thought), thought they got a free pass not too… Im not insulting anybody -- they were misled, pandered to, used and discarded. They were already pissed-off.., and were waiting for somebody to tap into all that anger and frustration -- *those baser instincts.*

**And now, that same or very similar group --** people that feel that they have been overlooked, take for granted until their vote was needed and then quickly discarded -- again, have put their hopes and dreams (and the fate of the free world) in the hands of someone who displays classic, textbook signs of malignant narcissism and mental illness.

**Narcissism would not be considered one of the best characteristics to embody…** Besides the list of unpalatable, unsavory traits (our baser instincts) possessed within the realm of narcissism -- you can't use logic when dealing with a narcissist. They have a problem seeing reality, for what it is -- *they just see their reality.* Logic is Hooey as far as they are concerned… 

Unfortunately, all this rhetoric has taped into the baser instincts of a nation… We always knew there were groups out there, that harkened back for times long past, the good ol' days -- at least how they have romanticized them.., *but never enough to elect someone displaying so many signs of mental instability.* If it were just some "fringe" group of people using religion or whatever, to spread hate and fear -- we could deal with that, they've always existed. But it seems our baser instincts have spread.., and and their reach continues to pull more naive, unhappy, insecure, angry people into it's grip.

**What's crazy about these, baser instincts --** *we can't control them…* They are inherent behaviors.., a part of our nature. We don't pay them much attention, but we acknowledge, as a whole, that they are Baser Instincts.., and not something to be emulated. We don't control them, either -- they are just there. What we can control, *is how we react to these less than admirable instincts.*

The world around us has not turned out the way many people have expected -- or imagined… Their desires are going unfulfilled and have been for some time. People are  not just being misled by this lack of fulfillment, their base instincts are being preyed upon -- summoned to the surface, like a snake from a basket.

<h2>Can't We All Just Get Along</h2>

**Spiritually, the baser instincts are related to the lower chakras --** and our connection to the animal in us all… From our hips to our toes are where these lower chakras reside and your baser instincts are alive and kickin'…They represent are primitive side that is stored in our DNA.., and living and reacting from this primeval side of us can lead to some very destructive behaviors -- from severe depression to extreme aggression and fury.

This is exactly what we see everyday on our nightly news.., and in our news feeds… Our recent presidential election was a perfect display of large (really large) groups of people reacting solely with their baser instincts -- anger, fear, fury, prejudice, void of empathy, self entitlement, lack of logic. The most watched (popular) reality TV shows portray this kind of primitive behavior for it's millions of viewers, meaning these kind of actions must be okay, if they're on TV… 

**Without cooperation.., and collaboration -- this world does not work.** It's like Los Angeles on a rainy day -- it's not at it's best. Without logical discussion and rational thinking, we stop moving forward -- progressing, evolving. And as they say (whoever they are).., *"if you are not moving forward, you are moving backward…"* 

According to the World Health Organization 1 in 5 people are clinically depressed -- WHAT?! WHY?! As I mentioned above severe depression can be attributed to our baser instincts -- giving in to the desires and relinquishing our power to lower part of our nature is destructive not only to ourselves.., but our societies and the world. Believing and condoning this kind of reckless, selfish behavior, gives it credence and the opportunity to spread, leading to division and more conflict.

**Our desires are directly tied to survival…** Behind every desire is a thought, that is tied to an action. Through evolution we learned to deal and cope with the darker desires that exist in us all… We have learned the concept of morality and an overall consensus of right and wrong. But somewhere along the line, through lack of proper representation, greed, self centeredness, fear and even violence.., that consensus has frayed -- 2 + 2 does not seem to equal 4 anymore, for everybody…

**And with the present environment in the US and around the world, these baser instincts can continue to rule the day…** Sort of like karma, the more we act from a place of dishonor -- the easier it gets. We are in essence witnessing a devolving of a nation -- a world. I don't know when it happened, I doubt anyone could pinpoint an exact moment of this mass surrender.., but it does not lend itself to the positive place we would like to see a world moving toward.

**As humans.., survival is a our strongest human instinct (some say sex -- freaks)..,** and even in this current toxic environment that doesn't seem to have an end in sight, at the moment.., an environment that finds most adults in debt, not as healthy as they would like (possibly chronically sick), out of work, stagnant wages while the price of everything around you rises, the rich getting richer… But also as humans -- we will survive. We will figure out a way to move past the division, greed, anger, fear and many other injustices -- *we have too!*
