HOLDING UNTO TRUTH WITHOUT COMPROMISE

2 Kings 5:18 says "In this thing the Lord pardon thy servant, that when my master goeth into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leaneth on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon: when I bow down myself in the house of Rimmon, the Lord pardon thy servant in this thing." Let me give us some background, Naaman, the Syrian encountered the Lord in a most remarkable way. He had leprosy and was completely healed in the twinkling of an eye. Having encountered the Lord in such a way, what would one naturally expect of him? That he becomes a witness and shares his own personal testimony. But Naaman did the opposite.

He said to Elisha, and I'm paraphrasing "I know that there is no God but the God of Israel. I know that because of the miracle I received. However, when I return home, and my master asks me to worship with him in the temple of his idol, I will go and worship with him. I know what I am doing is wrong, but I must do it anyway. God will forgive me, but my master will not"

This is the story among so many, we compromise the truth, on God, because we feel He is merciful. We honour men but dishonour God. We fear men but feel that the Lord is kind. We feel it important to please men but think it's okay to deal otherwise with God.

Are you intent on pleasing God or men? Do you honour God or men? Are you compromising on the truth? We must honour the Lord in all things.


Rev 1:2 says "Who bare record of the Word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw."

The desire of the Father is to manifest Himself in our life. He wants to show off the beauty of His love and grace through us. That is, each of us becoming a vessel through which the manifold nature of God is unveiled to the world. How else do we reveal the reality of an invisible God but by the manifestion of His many attributes. 

The Holy Spirit is willing and able to bring to pass the desires of the Father, as long as we allow Him.

Thank you @maxdevalue for this refreshing word this morning. I have always said this, that the reason people no longer have the fear of God but fear of man. And this is because what the churches tend to preach to us that he is the lamb, the all merciful and forgetting also that he is the lion too.

We will bring back the consciousness of the dread of God, things will change. He is a merciful father, we know, but also the consuming fire. I advice people to read this book, Sinners in the hands of an angry God by Jonathan Edwards.

Our perception of God will change drastically.

This is inspiring and refreshing I mut say. All I pray for is that we come to that acknowledgement and understanding of God's will for our lives. Little wonder James succinctly stated that for many shall be men pleasers rather than God pleasers. And this is what God demands for us at his children to do his will even when it storms.
