 #### In Wyoming, the 32 mile long Wind River Scenic Byway enters the Wind River Canyon with its 2,500 foot high walls towering above each side of the highway.

#### The road is narrow, and rockfall is a problem. On one side of the river are highway tunnels, and on the other side is the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tunnels.

#### We stopped to take pictures just as a big long freight train entered the canyon

#### Driving through the Wind River Canyon is like being in a crack in the earth, and you pass by rocks recording about 3 billion years in time. There are numbered signs along the way explaining what era of rock you are traveling through.

These tunnels are not long at all. Which was good for me because I really do not like tunnels. If I remember right you could see from end to end and there were three tunnels, quite close together. If you look closely in the photo with the big yellow sign, you can see the opening of two of the tunnels.

Stunning photos, Melinda!  I remember this area well, it's just full of the most incredible scenery!  Love your photos with the trains by the way! Thanks Keith! I had been through this part of Wyoming several times in the 80's to visit a friend who lived in Riverton. And then life happened and I didn't get back out that way until just a few years ago. But it was a joy to see Wyoming again! I do love it out there.

Info explaining the age of the rock is very cool. 
Haveing a train riding along side of the car must have added another dimension.
#melinda 010100 you have done some traveling in your day, you go girl.
No better way to see this beautiful country then by car.

I love to travel, and after my MS made international travel difficult for me, Jim made it his mission to drive me all over the USA. He assured me it was never any problem to lug my scooter in and out of the car. We had some grand adventures together before he died and I miss him terribly.

The sun was low in the sky and very harsh and I was not happy with how these photos came out, but I was glad that train didn't rattle any rocks loose while we were there!

We had spent the afternoon at the Dinosaur Museum in Thermopolis and saw so many amazing fossils. Then to come to this gorgeous Canyon was pretty amazing! What a day!

For me it is tunnels. I am okay if I can see the other end, but those long ones are terrifying. Ali asked if you had time this weekend to share your recipe, but I told her I hadn't seen it yet. She is hoping to make it to share with her Swedish class.

Swedish one First^^
>**botten**
125 gram smör
2 1/2 dl vetemjöl
3 msk strösocker
1 ägg
2 msk vatten

>**Kolafyllning**:
3 dl vispgrädde
1 dl socker
1 1/2 dl ljus sirap

>**Dekoration**
1 1/2-2 dl lingon

Mät torra ingredienser för botten och nyp ihop till en deg. Tryck ut i en rund form, cirka 22-24 cm.
Nagga med gaffel och grädda i mitten av ugnen tills den fått färg, ca 20min i 
Medans botten är i ugnen ;  koka din karamell sås-mät ingredienserna till kolan, försiktigt låta den  sjuda upp till 120-125 grader, (gör karamell test)
cirka 20 minuter.
Häll såsen över din botten OCH sprid sedan ut dina lingon ÖVER :D vänta 2 min & ÄT ;) 
Eng-
> Bottom 
125 grams of butter
2 1/2 dl of wheat flour
3 tablespoons of sugarcane
1 egg
2 tablespoons of water

>**Caramel Filling(sause)**
3 dl whipped cream
1 dl sugar
1 1/2 dl light syrup

>**Decoration**
1 1 / 2-2 dl lingon

Measure dry ingredients & mix them then nip together into a dough. Place out in a a round shapeb bakingpan, about 22-24 cm.
Nibble with fork and bake in the middle of the oven until it has color, about 20min in
While the bottom is in the oven; boil your caramel sauce- gauge the ingredients to the bowl, gently let it simmer up to 120-125 degrees, (do caramel test)
about 20 minutes.
Pour the sauce over your pie-dough AND then spread your lingon OVER: D wait 2 min & eat
