The money machine casual card game called Hearthstone continues printing money for Blizzard, Witchwood is another in line of their Hearthstone expansions. So many people throw money at this game for one simple reason, they want every new card released right away in their collection, and just like that Hearthstone is closing to one billion dollars in revenues.
 A lot of that success can be attributed to an easy boarding process, as a free to play game that can be played on your smartphones and PCs, developed by one of the most popular gaming companies in the world is bound to have a huge success. 
The price points of the packs are insane, why would you spend your money when you could earn them by playing and collecting gold by playing quests is beyond me. Well, at least they are trying new things, I'll give them that, but somehow this expansion does not feel new and exciting, mainly because this is already a 4 year old game.

Witchwood introduced some new card mechanics like Echo and Rush, Echo allows you to continuously play the same card until you run out of mana, Rush works just like Charge but you can't directly attack heroes.
Some new deck building mechanics are introduced like odd and even card decks that only work if you have a certain legendary card that permanently modify your hero power. Odd mana cost card allow you to cast your hero power for 1 mana, and the even mana cost cards upgrade your hero power with stronger effect, some nice synergies can be found by playing those new type of decks. 

Every Hearthstone expansion key features are the legendary cards that can shake up the meta game considerably. This time we have a Shaman legendary card called Shudderwock that casts every battlecry played in one match, this insane card once played can take 5 minutes to finish every animation of all those battlecries played. It is fun to see it in action, but it can take up to 15minutes to finish one game with this type of deck which is not worth it. The zoo decks are still the most efficient way of climbing the ladder.

The Witchwood is an expansion that will keep you busy for a while even though it is not packed with some epic new content, only for that reason I will give it a score of 75/100.
