I knew I would be up for a while for it hits brashly on the metal roof, which we’re close to up high in the loft. Eventually, after annoying Ini a bit, I fell back asleep to wake up to rain, still, come morning.  > When I stepped outside, I could hear the rush of water from our hilltop home and knew, when the sun came out, I wanted to investigate the effects.  > the spring is high and wide  > Luci loves sitting in it... ### Ever since the 100 year flood... Which happened almost 2 years ago, we know rains make the waters swell for a time, leaving major changes in their wake. They uproot and displace trees and even sweep cars downstream if people attempt to go over water laden bridges. The force of water is not to be underestimated and I always make a habit of checking on the status of things after major rains. Oh yes! I love watching storms happen. We had a pretty big one blow through on Christmas break while we were away, so I missed it. I was bummed, but there'll be other storms. Can't wait for spring so I can see how the swales fill up!

Gubberment man can't have muh water! Nope nope nope, that's for my soil, not you lakes! So far they're working I think, but it's been a pretty wet season. Need a good significant rain event so I can see.

I've always found rain on a metal roof soothing. Of course the only place I slept in metal roof buildings was the desert west where there is not a lot of water in the rain; so it was probably less brash.

We have lots of seasonal creeks here and ponds that go dry or almost dry over the summer. Last winter we all dressed up in rain gear and trudged through the water to see some of the run off during a heavy rain.
