What a lovely and informative post! Its interesting the parallels between many different cultures. I was having this conversation with @kristaluton the other day about the similarity between many of the dance warm up exercises I learned at college, the Alexander technique and yoga. 
On a side note, I remember passing groups of people practicing Tai chi in the park as the bus ferried me to school. I was always in awe of the positive energy radiating and how calm and relaxed everyone taking part looked.

Really enjoyed reading this article. I'm certain that all of the energy systems are interconnected and the knowledge of them at some point came from a forgotten source. Ultimately, there is only one energy, although many ways of tapping into it.

O! To be a fly on the wall in *that* conversation!!

Plenty more of these conversations to be had, I’m sure.

As for the X-over between the two systems, my understanding is that the çakra equate more to points along the meridians (as they are node points on the nadis).

In terms of the 7 major çakra, they can be said as dwelling within the dantian, as they are not ‘points’ as such, but ‘fields’ (that’s the translation)... which brings a whole lotta quantum physics ideas into this.

So the Lower Dantian (there are 3) contains the lower 3 çakra: muladhara, swadisthana, and manipura.

The Middle Dantian contains Anahata (and Hridaya).

The Upper Dantian contains Vissudha, Ajna, and Sahasrara.

That’s my observation combining tantric yoga and Tai Chi/Qigong practice, with some evidence from alchemical texts from China.

Wow, this is a great post. @thetreeoflife you look like a total badass with your Jian sword. I really resonate with this, as I have pursued training in Tai Ji as well, travelling to China a few years back. I would really like to go deeper in the practice, and hearing these words is inspiring!

There is quite a magnificent feeling when the energy is flowing! I have found this a lot when I am doing a free form tai chi where I use the basic shapes and let me body move :)
