### Like a Big Kid
I love snow. Sledging, snowballs, skiiing, snow sculpture. We once built an igloo in my cousins garden. We were snowed in that winter. I also love the quietness of snow. It's very good insulation. It also lights up the nights and it makes everything temporarily look very clean and bright (in the city).

* this is me attempting a ski jump and failing spectacularly. caught mid fail by my friend with my old zenit manual camera. I couldn't quite believe he caught the moment. I have just left a steep ramp and am about 6 feet off the ground about to come down with a bump, after completely overcooking the angle. I've since *improved my technique*. This photo is from 1994, it feels like yesterday. I escaped unharmed and fell about in a heap laughing (luckily). 

### I awoke on Sunday morning 
to see a dusting of snow from the window (it was still snowing). Excitedly I went to have a better look out of the big window. My daughters have never seen snow before. I was even more excited for them. We rushed to get snow clothes on. I was suited and booted and ready for the slopes quicker than you could say *look out snowball*.   The flakes got bigger and bigger. I remembered that snow sneaks up on you. It's silent unlike rain so you can wake up to find tons of the stuff. Once when I went skiing with some friends to Switzerland, there wasn't that much snow when we arrived. The next morning our host tried to rush us out of bed with promise of 3 feet of snow outside. We all thought we'd seen through his clever ruse to arouse us from slumber. We opened the chalet shutters. Lo and behold there was three feet (1 metre) of snow covering everything in sight. We hadn't heard a single flake. That week was some of the best skiing and best outdoor experiences I've ever had.

### City Snow
Usually doesn't last very long and before the day was out, it was slushy, wet and the roads were (thankfully) clear. It's not like country snow which can last for weeks. Often the next day, the only evidence of snow are a few partially melting snowmen. One year in our local park, (London Fields) it snowed quite a bit a randomly communal effort produced a series of huge snowballs which were piled together like a rudimentary temple. They lasted for weeks until eventually the last and largest one was the size of a football and disappeared overnight.

### A few photos of Snow
because it doesn't last very long I like to catch it. It seems to bring out a latent sense of fun and creativity in people and the sculptures people make are often inventive.
