SUNCHOKES FOR ANIMAL FEED AND A BACKUP FOOD SUPPLY - THE EXPERIMENTS CONTINUE

We first tried sunchokes last year, and they did incredible for us. At the end of the year we fed all of the stems, leaves, and flowers to our sheep and goats and stored up the tubers for ourselves, after replanting some. 

Now Spring is here again, and we haven't eaten through our supply  yet, which lead to some of them sprouting already. Not wanting to let anything go to waste, we thought it best to plant some in our pastures. As they grow, the sheep and goats can use them as a potential food source. Moreover, if they continue to grow and are not eradicated by the animals, then we'll have a hidden backup food supply hidden beneath our pastures. We'll see how it works!
