Getting Shite Done – Why I Don’t Feel Any Better

<p>For a while now I have been looking at the contest by @themarkymark - Get Shit Done Contest, with the consideration of entering. &nbsp;Whaleshares for the prize, sure why wouldn’t I enter?</p>
<p>But I am always getting shite done. &nbsp;I am so busy every day. &nbsp;I work, which I do around my kids. &nbsp;That means I work in the morning, do family stuff, homework activates for the afternoon and evening and then I get back to work each night. &nbsp;I have to be productive with the time I have so shite just won’t get done.</p>
<p>Today I did something I have been putting off all year. &nbsp;Something that I dread. &nbsp;Something most people dread. &nbsp;My Tax Return.</p>

<p>For those of you than know me, you will know that I am a qualified CPA. &nbsp;Sure doing a tax return is second nature. &nbsp;Lol, go to hell, tax returns are nothing but a pain in the face. &nbsp;In fact there are one of the reasons I won’t practice as an accountant.</p>
<p>When you practice as an accountant, people give you their paperwork or details and you prepare a tax return for them. &nbsp;But it does not stop there. &nbsp;As an accountant you have to listen to the client moan and give out about the tax they have to pay. It’s as if we personally have put this charge on them. &nbsp;</p>
<p>And then, because they have tax to pay, they don’t want to pay the accountant. &nbsp;Sure the accountant only gives them bad news. &nbsp;Who the fuck wants to pay for bad news.</p>
<p>So I had my own tax return to do today, but it’s not as simple as just doing mine. &nbsp;I am married and we submit a joint return. &nbsp;That means I have to listen to my husband give out to me. &nbsp;WHF. &nbsp;It’s not my fault. &nbsp;Why do we have to go through this every year?</p>
<p>But it’s done now and I don’t feel any better. &nbsp;Why? well because in a few week a couple of grand will be gone from my bank account and then next year I will have to do it all again.</p>

I hear you Paula... I have most of a degree in accounting and have done all my own taxes since day one... endless hours of paperwork tracking three separate businesses of self-employment for myself, and similar hours of paperwork tracking my wife's life coaching practice and her unrelated eBay business, and then our art gallery have together. Yeah, that's a lot of fun... and at the end of it all we're generally below the Federal exemption anyway, but it still has to be done because of self-employment SS tax. Grrrr....

Now imagine that 2 countries claim the right to tax 100% of your worldwide income.  Its enough to make you stop earning any more money ;p
