Substitute Sugar With These Sweet Alternatives

_One of my first articles on Steemit was how sugar is toxic and which bad effects it brings. You can read more about it here:_

I will continue writing about this as it is a topic which **deserves to get much more awareness**. That's why I prepared short article about sugar alternatives which I use and serve as even better substitute for sugar. Don't worry it is short and sweet ;)

**HONEY**
It is probably my favourite. It not only brings sweetness on a spoon, but also some important antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and enzymes. But be careful with heating honey as research shows that heating it over 40 degrees destroys health benefits of honey and makes it even dangerous.

_Scientists made research with bees if they would consume pre-heat honey. The results were amazing as bees would rather starve to death than eat pre-heated honey._

**XYLITOL**
Xylitol does not effect blood sugar or insulin and it is great sweetener. It is also not harmful for your teeth. Just do not feed your dog with it as dogs have problems digesting xylitol.

**STEVIA**
Stevia is 300 times sweeter than sugar and also does not affect blood sugar or insulin. Some people have problems with its aftertaste but it is solid substitute for sugar.

**ERYTHRITOL**
Not so sweet as sugar, but a solid substitute to it. Similar to stevia or xylitol it does not effect blood sugar or insulin.

**CONCLUSION**
All these four substitutes are good and safe to use. We can even cook with it - except with honey as described. But like with everything else you should have a healthy measure for everything.
