Cheers friends! 

It’s been quite a week for the pura-days duo let me tell you. We took off for a quick trip to Las Vegas at the beginning of the week and just made it home now. Good thing too because y’all know what time it is… that’s right, @foodfightfriday time!

 This is obviously the best Friday of the week in @dandays ‘  book but for me it’s a little more. The food fight fam is the responsible party for my presence, here, on Steemit. All of the shizz talking, fish slapping, food throwing, and laugh having is the very heart beat of what this contest is about. I absolutely love it so am glad to be present on this glorious Friday, and back at home to put a little something something together. Thank you all for a consistently good time. It’s nice when you find your <a href=https://youtu.be/KnTX6LUUxCA>tribe</a>. (Watch it until the end to laugh more).

You know when you get back from a trip and walk in your house, throwing your suitcase somewhere out of the way, dropping your purse on the bed and b lining for the toilet because you’ve been away from one for 45 minutes so naturally you have to go, and when you finally make your way to the refrigerator it’s frikken empty…?!? Well, that’s our story today, an empty, no good, tummy provoker of a fridge with nothing in it. 

Here I am with a growling tummy, standing pant less (I don’t know why I don’t wear pants in the kitchen 🤷🏼‍♀️) infront of my empty arse fridge and no one volunteering to go grocery shopping for me. It’s also food frick fooday, food fight Friday where I’ve shown up with my <a href=https://media.giphy.com/media/xDQ3Oql1BN54c/giphy.gif>dog</a> having eaten my homework. 

What’s a girl (or as @sivehead likes to say Queen) to do?

Reach for that jar of peanut butter you say… ? I can’t bring myself to that sorry cliche of eating peanut butter from the jar, with a spoon, in my underwear. Okay, really I just can’t admit that cliche to you so on to plan B. No, not the birth control but the cliches younger sibling; <a href=https://youtu.be/ae8t-QKPVY4>grocery shopping</a>. Sighhh… I guess I better grab my pants.

Grocery shopping isn’t just a one stop shop for us, no, no, no. It’s a tour de extravaganza! First, I sit down and write out my list (yes, with a pen and paper. They still exist you know). This isn’t any two second task either. I have to carefully consider what meals I’ll make for the week, check to see what we already have and add everything I’ll need to make it happen. This is when @dandays gets in some good Steemit writing time ::wink:: ::wink::  

Then I have to write the items down in the order of how we’ll encounter them in the grocery store. This is done with careful consideration to the last minute items I squeeze in. I.e. leaving space in between some items.

The **Front** there is my list of items, in accurate order of the grocery store layout. The bottom right hand corner is reserved for the items we get at the second (yep, I said dos) grocery store. I.e. usually more toiletries but sometimes <a href=https://media.giphy.com/media/12ZDIx1Mw1cXVm/200.gif>food items</a> will sneak over there. We try to only buy our food at places that only sell food. Does anyone else think it’s kind of weird to buy pregnancy tests, bleach, toilet paper and avocados at the same joint? Just me then… 

The back is my “weeks menu ideas”. This gives me an idea of what I’m making for the week and also gives me some flexibility to change things should I decide to sh*t can the green smoothie and make a mint flavored nice cream instead. If you are scratching your head wondering “what the heck is nice cream” then you are missing out my friend. It’s only Gods excretion of glory, nothing really 🤷🏼‍♀️  You should probably avoid looking it up. 

With the list complete we can grab our eco friendly, TJs brand, reusable bags and get gone. Mind you it’s friday at 2:00 p.m. (shhhh, it takes me a while to write okay, I’m disxelic) in downtown Los Angeles. This shopping trip should be a piece of <a href=https://media.giphy.com/media/26hirOfa3qAzia36g/giphy.gif>cake</a>. 

First stop is, you guessed it, Trader Joes. I don’t know about you but I absolutely love Trader Hoes. They always have what I want at the best prices 😉. 

Oddly enough we were able to wiz right in and wiz right out. That never happens. “Thank you Trader Gods”. How often do you think one has to visit the store in downtown LA before the cashiers know who they are? Well, I think we’ve been there that number of times. What can I say, food is my shoe addiction. 

After loading the trunk up with our first haul we set off to bare the under belly of the grocery store world; Ralph’s. 

Ralph’s is on our way back home from the Traders route and they stock all of the toilet paper and laundry detergent a Queen could ask for. Sometimes I’ll even get my laundry quarters through them. What I won’t buy through them is hummus. I don’t know what they think they have on their shelves labelled as hummus but it is most assuredly NOT hummus. 

Once we make it out of the jungle known as Ralph’s, it’s time to head home with our trophies.

By the way if you haven’t heard, greens incite those phantom turds we all so desperately desire. Not the ones that disappear in the toilet as if nothing ever happened but the ones that leave no cleanup necessary. Dandays calls them “clean turds”, toe-mate-toe, to-maw-toe 🤷🏼‍♀️  

As my husband takes his place on his warm thrown, I get to work putting everything away. Don’t get the wrong idea, Dandays would gladly put everything away but we have a rule in my house, the kitchen is mine. After all, it’s not easy maintaining the Queens title.

Look at all of those goodies would ya? Of course the seeds aren’t the only part of the plant we use 🤦🏼‍♀️

I’d say 85 percent of all our groceries are found in the produce section. Like I said earlier, it makes for a really clean morning 😉

I guess you could say we are kind of spinach freaks up in here, up in here. I’m also back on this kale kick pushing arugula to the side for a minute. “It was a good run arugula but kale’s back in town”.

With a nice full fridge I’m back standing in front of it with the door open, pants off, wondering “what the heck am I gonna make to eat?”
