Even though it was too late to sleep yesterday, I started today with an energy that I never had. All plans were set to do our charity event on Sunday (tomorrow) so, today was the day we went to purchase goods. April is the month of the traditional new year in Sri Lanka. So we planned to help few low-income families to celebrate new year's dawn happily more than ever. 

@sandu @sandupi and I met at Ambalangoda and once all set we started to purchase goods. First, we gave the stationary list to the stationary shop and planned for rest of the day while the sales assistant prepares the order. Luckily they gave us a discount after hearing our purpose so we could purchase all items for 12 000LKR.

Then we went to the largest supermarket in the town to purchase other items. Roads we completely crowded due to the upcoming festival season. Even the supermarket is crowded with no social distance.

In the supermarket, we purchased huge amounts of goods including rice, sugar, dhal and many more. My boyfriend was with us and he helped us a lot by lifting heavy-weight bags. We filled 4 carts with necessary goods both food and sanitary.  We aimed to fill their needs of the new year month.

I had a good experience of purchasing goods by myself because every other days, I shop with my mother. But today we had to determine whether this is good or bad. Some funny thing happened to @sandupi and @sandu 😅. A boy followed them and suddenly he turned back after seen my boyfriend in the scene. This made fun throughout the shopping.

We visited multiple supermarkets to purchase more goods as we got discounts from all. Because of this, we were able to purchase more than we expected. For a family, we could able to purchase goods more than 10000LKR which is a considerable large amount even for a middle-income family. I am so willing to see how they accept these new year gifts.

Their mother treated us with food and juice. I was close to getting down to the floor due to hunger and thirst but thanking their mother I got refreshed. 

After turning back, my good-hearted boyfriend did another good deed. He stopped the car for a very old grandmother (75-80) who was walked along the road because she missed the bus. She had to walk for a long but we gave her a free and comfortable ride to the place she wanted to go. She generously thank us and after all, we separated happily.

Let's see what will happen tomorrow!
