Do Muslims really abhor music and entertainment?

Muslims do not abhor music or entertainment. If you look at Islamic History &amp; Quran, Islam acknowledges four most important prophets in History :-</p>
<ol>
  <li>Prophet Mohammed(Quran)</li>
  <li>Prophet Muses or Musa(Tawrat)</li>
  <li>Prophet Dawud(Zabur)</li>
  <li>Prophet Isa or Jesus(Bible or Injil)</li>
</ol>
<p>Even though Islam Acknowledges a very large number of Prophets only these four came with a Book from God or Allah. Thus the importance of these four is much more than any other Prophets.&nbsp;</p>
<p><br></p>
<p>Now if you study Prophet Dawud he was blessed by the almighty with a sweet voice and he propagated the teachings of Zabur(the Book he was enlightened with) using ancient hymns and spiritual songs. &nbsp;When Allah himself blessed his prophet with a sweet voice so that he could spread his message how can he be against music ?</p>

<p>Secondly if you look at Islamic history Sufi Music is an important part of it. <strong>Sufism and Sufi Music have spread more Islam than any King with Sword could do</strong>. Thus Islam in its true sense is never against Music.</p>

<p>However Islam does not support vulgarism nor does any sane person. Entertainment/music which is vulgar &nbsp;is discouraged by every religion. The Fanatics of any religion misinterpret the holy Scriptures and thus create confusion in the minds of gullible followers. &nbsp;No religion is hateful it is the fanatics who interpret it as such, for the fulfilment of their vested interests.&nbsp;</p>
