Standard VS 3D Movies

So I saw Infinity War for the second time today (no spoilers), this time with my wife, and also in 3D. Normally I wouldn't choose the 3D option, but we were on a time crunch slightly with our date, and it was the soonest showing locally.

# NO. nononnononononono 3D sucks
*let me tell you why*

# 1. The random headache you get in the middle of your forehead 
> Your eyes are not used to seeing 3D in something that is supposed to be 2D. Depending on how well the people converting it to 3D did, this can either be a minor annoyance or a *throbbing migraine*.

# 2. They choose where you have to focus
> Headache wasn't enough? How about not being able to look at the full picture as you would like. Only the *foreground* figures are the things that are focused on. What if I want to look for EASTER EGGS?!?!?!

# 3. Horrible quality
> Not only can you only focus where they choose, but you can't even look wherever you want on the screen. If you do, its just a blurry mess. The only decent quality again is where they have focused. Overall you just get a mush of blurry mush... *have I made myself clear*

# 4. Impossible to follow
> God forbid there is an action sequence, those are just about impossible to follow, and you might as well just close your eyes, because all you're going to see anyways is multiple layers of blur

# 5. It's more expensive
> Not only is the quality arguably sub-par to a standard showing, its also more expensive. Either way you work it, you lose...

But seriously, it is a good thing I've seen that movie already or I would be even more irritated having spent $30 bucks on it. My wife seemed to enjoy herself though, and that is always worth it :D

Sadly I’m one of the few who enjoys 3D...when it’s good.We actually shot a film in 3D a few years back for absolutely no reason at all. Lol. Well we thought it was going to be big. There was talk at the time of several cable channels that were going to launch 3D channels. We thought they would gobble up any content to fill slots. It didn’t happen. So all we did was make this extremely difficult on ourselves. Regardless,  It was an amazing experience and we learned a lot in the process though.

But i rarely get these if they are in IMAX 3D format.  I would avoid if it's normal 3D.

I see movies in any format if I am extremely interested in it. I can't seem to wait for a clear version or 3d version. I just rush out to get it as soon as I can. It is after that first time, that I go back to it and really see it in order to get all the nuances and atmosphere, sound, action sequences and so on.

Most of the foreign films sold on the street over here, in the first few months are cinema dubs. Clear versions will come after a while and I just can't wait. 

Infinity wars is going for 3000 naira that is like 9$ and some cents. I don't have that kind of money to spend. So I am hunting for a crappy disc which I know will be out soon.

Yeah I'm avoiding the 3D movies for the reasons you listed.  I don't get the headaches but I hate that 50% of the screen is out of focus.

Hahaha, I also don't like 3D, even 4D! My gosh. But sometimes I watch a really really good movie in it, for me that's when it's cool to see the 3D effects. I watched Infinity Wars in 2D and now that I've seen this post I think I want to watch it in 3D next time to further be dazzled by all those special effects. :D
