Hello „steemates“, today we bring you some of the most beautiful places in the world.

# 1. Petra

* *It's one of the oldest metropolieses in the world, half-built and half-carved into the rocks (offten called „Rose City"). With 800 tombs and a lot of monuments, sacred places and historical sites it's also one of the new seven wonders in the world, located in Jordan (between Dead Sea and Red Sea). * *Petra was established by the Nabateans that built it as a trade route to connect route to South Asia and Greece nearly 312 BC. European studies discovered that the Nabateans also built it to track the astronomical movements of the sun. It was discovered by the Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burthartd in 1812. One of the most visited sites are the Royal Tombs that consist of four separate tombs. The entrance to Petra is very impressive, you have to pass through a narrow canyon of about 1km, bound by the tall cliffs. The landscape is also astonishing  with the beautiful mountains and sandstone hills. Petra was  destroyed in 363 AD, several earthquakes highley damaged many buildings and water system. # 2. Lençóis Maranhenses National Park

* *This is the one of the places that almost everyone will leave brethless. Nature lovers will enjoy the most. Lençóis Maranhenses is a very popular destination, especially for ecotourists beacuse of  astonishing landscape. It's  located in Maranhão (state in northeastern Brazil), a place where sea and desert are meet, literally (but due to too much rainfall, this place can not be officialy considered as a desert). Best time of the year to visit it is between  July and September when is the rainy sesson and the area around sand dunes turns into beautiful lagoons with crystal clear water. During the rainy sesson most of the lagoons is dried up. Two rivers flow through the park and push sand from inland to the Atlantic Ocean. Another phenomenon is during the rainy season when strong winds from the Atlantic whipe the sand back and form those beautiful sand dunes, by which the park is the most famous.* https://img.esteem.ws/jfkpzta52t.jpg
