Delicious Ancient Thai Dessert: Khao Niew Piak Khao Pod or Soft sweet sticky rice with corn and coconut cream

During the crisis of COVID 19 like this, I have to mostly stay at home and cook almost my meals on my own. (I sometimes order foods via grab food delivery.) Although I’m not good at cooking, I think it’s better and safer.

And since I love ancient Thai desserts very much, I then have to try cooking them as well. There are various kinds of ancient Thai desserts, but they are very hard to find nowadays.

It’s unfortunate that I can cook only easy desserts as I already showed you in the past. Today, I would like to present to you another easy one.

It’s called in Thai as “Khao Niew Piak Khao Pod” or it can be explained in English as “Soft sweet sticky rice with corn and coconut cream”.

I’m a corn lover, so I love this dessert especially. ;)

Let’s see the ingredients:

* Boiled corn - up to your favorite
* Sticky rice - 1 bowl
* Water - 3 bowl
* Sugar - 1 - 2 bowls or up to your favorite
* Coconut cream - 1 bowl
* Salt - 1 tea-spoon

How to cook it:

* Boil the sticky rice, stir well until the rice looks soft
* Add sugar
* Add boiled corn
* Stir softly until they are mixed
* Turn off the stove

Then prepare for the coconut cream

* Boil coconut + water (½ bowl)
* Add salt
* Stir well until it’s cooked

Finish and ready to serve by putting the soft sticky rice with corn in a bowl first, and then pour the coconut cream on the top.

Um! I must confess this is the first time that I cooked this dessert. I'm glad that it looks so good. Do you agree with me? ;D

Hello my friend, so glad to see you and say hello after many many many many many days of time.  Sigh, I am not on here much, but maybe one day soon to be more.  
It looks like you are doing well. Glad you are staying home to take care of yourself.   I am still hunkering down most times, and if I have to venture out, wearing mask, gloves, and glasses, and with washing station in the back of the Subaru.  So far so good.   I think some folks here think this is all over, and quite a few don't wear masks and just wander around the store like aimless cattle.   Drives me batty...so I stay home most times, except groceries and gas for mower/weedeater. Grass doesn't seem care WHAT's going on in the viri department, the green stuff still grows over my head if I let it ( :
  
Your sticky rice and corn looks very good.  You look to be a good cook to me, then again, as I've discovered, boiling water CAN be difficult.   I love your bowls too.  Gave me a good chortle.  What are the little folks,  helping you enjoy your eats, names?

Hope you are doing fine!  It looks like you have well protected yourself from the COVID 19 and you have done everything perfectly; wearing mask, gloves, and glasses, and with washing station in the back of the Subaru.
