i’m wondering today how many people the eclipse had a profound effect on, realising what they were for the first time, a small little human being on a spinning piece of moon rock eclipsed by a moon for a few minutes removing all light and warmth from the planet in the process, in a blink of an eye the day went to night and spectacular visuals evoked internal thoughts of placements in the cosmos. it’s kinda like sex really when you have that connection with a passionate partner that understand you, you have that unity, a bond, a connection that stops you in your tracks and allows for barrier to drop, aside from the pants.

you know the cliche, the cigarette of satisfaction, the onscreen shot of a couple cuddling in bed with cigarettes to end the sexual interlude with a few cigarettes of extra satisfaction for dessert. i stopped smoking a long time ago (and it was joints not cigarettes) and have replaced the dessert with something much bigger than just an extra layer of self absorbed smugness. the celebration should never been about the act it should always be about the bond. being in a romantic, loving, sexual relationship should make you stomach knot like your hungry for more.

i’m thinking today people might have the same knot about the eclipse, this moment of one kinship, when you know your country is all together, all races, all colours, phased together for a few minutes in totality not just in darkness but compassion for the human condition. that for a moment, something bigger than all of us took place. yesterday, the moon won the year round calendar of BEST SOCIAL MEDIA ENGAGEMENT of a lifetime, you can’t find any digital agency on earth, maybe if you bought a slice of the moon could you put a spin on it.

but if the moon moving in front of the sun humbled you yesterday, felt like a moment you consigned to memory, that you will see as part of the supposed flash back on your life when you pass ask yourself were you just spectator sporting the moment or did it really stop you for those few minutes and consider who you are as a human being, did it give you a hard reset like a good romp in bed does? did you even for a second consider another path through life, have questions, woke today with a fresh outlook and vision, decided to remove the rose tinted glasses and start helping our fellow men and woman of planet earth for equality in all areas of our time here on planet earth.

maybe today, unlike any other day in your life so far is a day for contemplation and decision making, it’s ok, i’ve told your boss, take the day off, they will still be unpacking what those feelings are too anyway. you deserve to spend at least a little time today, maybe a tiny course correction, maybe say hello to that cute boy or girl that serves you coffee everyday just to let them know, that you know, he or she should know about you.

for whatever the reason. . .
