Thank you @eirik for pointing that out. I already know that. I have an account. The reason I thanked @themarkymark was for reminding the Steem community of withdrawing our bytes locked in the smart contract. And most of us would have signed around this time last year.

Besides, even if he makes money while we do, what's the harm? Most programs run that way, right? 😊

I think a lot of people lost out because if you back up your wallet by saving the **seed words** it will not recover your smart contracts.  This wasn't clear and I think a lot of people fell victim to it.

In fact, you need to back up your entire wallet after every transaction that isn't a pure GBytes only transaction.  A truly decentralized system but not without it's faults.

I will be turning all my Obyte into @spinvest tokens on Steem-Engine. The founder @silverstackeruk is trying to set it up where you will be able to send him your Bytes and he will credit your Steem Engine account with a fair rate of SPI tokens. What a great service, out with the old and in with the new!

You have to download the wallet, then create a new one.  Then you go through the attestation (use the chat bot store to find the Steem Attestation bot)

I wrote a [post](https://steemit.com/byteball/@themarkymark/byteball-airdrop-the-largest-steem-airdrop) a while ago on how to do it, it should still help figure it out.
