The Classics Never Die - The Drifters

Well as I tune in to in to the Saturday night jukebox and blast out another great night, on that note I would like to share with you another one of my favorite groups from the jukebox.

# ☠️ The Drifters ☠️
No I'm not talking about a group from Tokyo Drift, but a group who I have loved for many years.
I first came across them on the Saturday night jukebox many years ago when I was a kid. They are one of my favorite groups coming out of the 50's era.

The group consists of four members, but has also seen members come and go over the years.
Their music also spans a number of decades. The 50's, 60's were their best years though in my opinion.

The group performed R&B and what was known as doo-wop, which was very common throughout the 50's and early 60's.

For me I just love the sound the drifters have, I never get sick of listening to them :)

# ☠️ Under the Board Walk ☠️
This is by far my favorite track of theirs.
I just love the sound this track has, but it would have been nice if it went a bit longer so I had more time to appreciate it.

This way they have constructed this song is just magical.
This track always reminds me of the hot summer days we have here in Australia, which are usually spent down at the beach and if your down there at the right time you can claim a spot under the jetty. The perfect way to relax and escape the heat after a dip.

# ☠️ There Goes my Baby ☠️
This is another one of my favorite tracks from the drifters.
It has that classic 50's sound which is unmistakable.

This song reminds me of girls who I have let go that I maybe should have tried harder to keep.
It's a sad song and I enjoy listening to it when I feel blue.

For me this track is just amazing and I wish music was still like this. Nothing like some of the garbage that is coming out these days, absolute refuse.

# ☠️ Stand By Me ☠️
I just love this track. Full of heart and soul.
Has long been one of my favorite tracks from the drifters.

It's Another slow song and I think represents what most of us want from a partner, which is for them to stand by you through thick and thin.
The trouble these days is you can be dumped at the drop of a hat some times.

Excellent @thevillan. I feel like this is Saturday Morning at the Movies (music videos) - my timezone. The Drifters were a great group. 

FYI: The song *Stand By Me* was the sixth highest earning song as of that time earning over 17 million pounds most of which went to Ben E King, the writer and lead singer. A movie was also made with that title, using the song as the background theme.

Just have to add this - *Stand By Me* was the original song used by Playing For Change, which brought musicians together from all over the world by splicing together their distant performances into one video.
