but I would note that an app that @jesta made that I used every day

Powering down and selling even 1/4 of that steem will crash it down to levels we have not yet seen. This is why it really shocked me seeing the price rise the last two days when we all know millions of steem are about the hit the markets. Legit makes no sense...

You may want to consider the possibility that Stinc has already been sold to Samsung, as reported by @kaliju.  This would explain why the pump is coming from Korea, and lend some credence to those skeptical that @ned would simply start powering down based on a conversation that has surely been broached before now.

Hell, @elfspice set out to do exactly that over a year ago.  The idea of forking out ninjamined stake isn't new at all.

Dunno how much credibility the Samsung purchase theory really has, but @sircork confirmed it, and I have seen other references to it as well from folks that have not compromised their credibility with me (yet).

The 'official' story of the powerdown hasn't included any actual claim any of the stake will be sold, just that it is being secured from forking it away.  

We'll see what shakes out.

Well I do think that Stinc has been sold off to Samsung. Either that, or a bunch of whales and insiders are passing around that info wrongly. It's probably true. 
I'm just not entirely sure what that means. I wasn't expecting it.

I sure don't know, but have been concerned about the possibility for some time.  Given the emergent circumstances regarding the relationship between Stinc and witnesses, as well as the community, I could hardly imagine the relief @ned would experience with each distribution of Steem for fiat, and the freedom from such a fractious and unruly crowd.

Samsung is definitely a surprise to me, too.  I would have thought someone like Goldman Sachs would have been first up.  Maybe they were, but @ned found a way out without feeding us to the vampire squid.  That would be nice of him, considering how many folks have spoken of him.
