Message from the blarney stone
When the blarney stone rolls up its sleeves to give you a bit of advice it's always good to sit down and listen...

“Explain to us this,” said the crowd, “if there’s no truth to be found in all this then where do we look, and for what?”

“We look inside again as we all once used to,” said the blarney stone coming back to life with a trick up its sleeve and a little snigger that took a bow centre stage for all to see.

“Are we all fish then lost in the huge ocean?” asked the crowd.

“Of course you are,” said the blarney stone pulling a hammer and chisel from out of its sleeve and proceeding to make them all believe.

One: the truth shall set you free from all the lies.

Two: when you get to the top of the mountain there’s only one place left to go and that’s back down again.

Three: butterflies come from caterpillars that come from eggs that come from the desire to fly.

Four: doom is the on switch of the TV, leave it alone.

Five: the rich are the un-convicted felons of the world with no regard for anyone but themselves.

Six: a good coffee is the best way to start the day.

Seven: when you get to heaven don’t look for virgins, they’re in short supply.

Eight: when flying a kite feel for the wind.

Nine: the many directions of change are all around you so ask for what you want and then see it happen.

Ten: austerity measures are only for the poor who need them the most.

The old wind tried to open its mouth about here to say something about the tenth commandment but after raising one finger it then forgot what it had to say and fell back into a heavy sleep surrounded by other sleeping cronies all drugged up to keep them that way while the matron of doom guarded them and listened to the austerity blues on the radio.

The mad bomber, wanting only to cause trouble climbed out of a window and slunk off into the night to kill and maim and do bad things and thought only of the many virgins he would receive when he got to heaven.

The next day the Indian headlines said a Sufi holy man was hacked to death for his beliefs that must have upset someone enough to kill him.

All over the world walls were falling, bombed into submission by the mad bombers who all swore they were normal and proved it everywhere they went by laughing their heads off and gobbling to their heart’s content.

The smiling face hides the worried frown and gives the message all is well from the top of the wall now rubble and ten feet under water.

They lie out of their teeth and will go down lying and long after they’ve all gone and are no longer where we live they’ll still lie, for they know not what they do and believe all they tell themselves.

And what does Gaia say to all this madness?

“Oh do please slow down, you’re all going too fast and making it so hard to count the flowers, and now look, it’s coffee time already.”

PS, when speaking in a foreign tongue for the first time don’t forget to turn up the volume to gas mark 6, it won’t earn you any brownie points but it will cook the spuds that much quicker. And last but not least: when in Rome act like a tourist who knows where they’re going.
