It is a beautiful creature that lives in the ocean, a mythological being. They have a beautiful voice with which they attract sailors.
They are hybrids between human and fish, has many representations tell us but the most popular is that of a human maiden from the head to the navel and a scaly tail of fish for the rest of the body,In different parts of the world they have different conceptions of these creatures.
In the British Isles they are seen as an omen of bad luck and they drown people swimming up in rivers and freshwater lakes.
In China on the other hand they have the belief that these beings have tears that turn into precious pearls.
Currently many people believe in the existence of these beings, because the ocean is very extensive and is not yet known completly, other people believe that they existed but became extinct as many of the other species that inhabited the planet.

> Es una bellísima criatura que habita en el océano, un ser mitológico. Ellas tienen una hermosa voz con la cual atraen a navegantes y marineros.
> Son híbridos entre humano y pez, tiene muchas representaciones pero la más popular es la de una doncella humana desde la cabeza hasta el ombligo y una cola escamosa de pez el resto de su cuerpo.
> En las diferentes partes del mundo tienen distintas concepciones de estas criaturas.
> En las Islas Británicas son vistas como un presagio de mala suerte y que ahogan personas nadando hasta ríos y lagos de agua dulce.
> En China por otro lado tienen la creencia de que estos seres tienen lagrimas que se convierten en perlas preciosas.
Actualmente muchas personas creen en la existencia de estos seres, ya que, el océano es un lugar muy extenso y aun no se conoce del todo, otras personas creen que existieron pero se extinguieron como muchas de las otras especies que habitaron el planeta.

I started with a simple pencil sketch, where it defines the position and the body of the creature in general.
It is not perceived very well in the photo but latter it will be taking shape.

> Comencé con un simple boceto a lápiz, donde define la posición y el cuerpo en general de la criatura.
No se percibe muy bien en la foto pero luego está tomando forma.

Then I made the final delineation. She has many fish characteristics throughout the body, although by this she doesn't lose any beauty. ✨

Finally, I added color to the body and the background.
The body is blue, it seemed like a good idea to leave the comfort zone and play a little with the tonalities.
I tried to give some realism to te skin and familiarize it with the sea and the other creatures that habits there.
The background is not perceived very well but I wanted to represent the sea in a beautiful and bright way.
So I end up with this lovely mermaid. 💕

> Finalmente, agregué color al cuerpo y al fondo.
El cuerpo es azul, me pareció una buena idea dejar la zona de confort con eso y jugar un poco con las tonalidades.
Intenté dar cierto realismo a la piel y familiarizarla con el mar y las otras criaturas que habitan allí.
El fondo no se percibe muy bien, pero quería representar el mar de una manera hermosa y brillante.
Así que termino con esta hermosa sirena. 💕
