I use a combination of Steemvoter / Manual Upvotes / Minnowbooster & Smartsteem when it comes down to spreading my upvotes and managing my voting power.

<b>Steemvoter</b> This is a really great tool both to give some auto support to blogs I appreciate and to give support back to those that have me on their steemvoter list. I have always found smaller consistent support way more valuable compared to having to hope for the occasional big upvote and have quite some people on my steemvoter and I will continue to add more over time.  It can be quite tricky though because the amount of posts and overall quality need to be quite stable in order to qualify. It can be quite frustrating to see someond double or tripple their posts all of a sudden or start including meme posts and so while they are on your steemvoter list. Consistency in all ways is really key.

<b>Manual Upvotes</b> These depend on how active I am on steemit on a specific day, but I often manually upvote posts I come across that I enjoy and I also tend to upvote comments a lot. 

<b>Minnowbooster & Smartsteem</b> I set my percentage to sell votes at somewhere between 86% and 94% depending on how active I am. I always like to get at somewhere around a 10x self upvote value on my posts at least and using some of the SBD that comes in from selling votes is really needed to get there right now. 

The combination of these provide a good fair balance right now in my view and make it all very time efficient also.
