I personally feel it is yes for curators but no for content providers. At this point of time there are still a lot of junk posts out there that is manipulative with self upvotes. I agree with [@themarkymark](https://steemit.com/@themarkymark) that this shouldn't be the only solution. If truly that there is a 50-50 rewards then it has to be more creteria to it to encourage content creators to keep creating. I also like the slider feature suggestion where creators are allowed to choose to set his / her post like a bounty for exposure (providing that the post offers 50% curation rewards) purposes so that curators are enticed to come and read the post or just support it.

A slider for payout would be awesome! I remember authors who used to offer 90% to 100% return to all the curators who upvoted their post. They got lots of comments and reshares, which is the exposure they wanted. And it gave people with smaller accounts a larger reward than they normally get for supporting their work. All around a win-win, and it wasn't forced onto the entire blockchain. Totally optional.
