These app features should be integrated into Steemit along with other improvements so that scalability will improve. Free international chatting, texting, and calling. Automatically citing sources when youtube videos or other writing content is shared to protect the original authors and speed up the process for posting. Consolidating a modern tech package, streamlining processes, and adding innovative content will fuel growth.

Compared to Facebook, Steemit is still lacking and could use these features. The IM capability would be great, however, I'm a little nervous about having my Steem worth out there and anyone having the ability to IM me.

Those are actually some of my concerns as well. I think it's one of the issues with having a completely transparent blockchain. IM capability would be really useful compared to using third party messaging applications.
