#### If something is free for your, most of the time YOU are the product. That's one reason why Steemit is so refreshing. No corporations are mining our data and advertising to us, but rather WE are the ones reaping the profits from our social posts and contributions. But there's always an advantage to being an early adopter. Early adopters to Steemit bought Steem for pennies and now their holdings are worth 10's or 100's of thousands and they have tons of clout when it comes to deciding who makes money on this platform.

Enter <a href="https://sphere.social/?ref=5309-436f703f">Sphere</a>, who is not really a Steemit competitor but perhaps a compliment to our social network or possibly a site that can take tons of traffic away from Facebook. I've been noticing lots of advertising "coincidences" on Facebook lately. I search for a restaurant on Google and then I see an ad for the restaurant 5 minutes later on FB. Or I go into a grocery store chain with my GPS turned on and BOOM, there's an ad for them. Sphere gets rid of the corporations mining our data and it gives holders of its SAT token 30% of the site's profit. However if they want your data it sounds like you have the option to sell your info (I probably wil just keep mine privately secured as it should be).
