We did enough to this house to make it homey but the intention was to sell it and move on. That hasn't happened so we're getting a bit more invested in it in a similar way. Though I'd be seriously hard pressed convincing J that pretty coloured lights are a good investment XD (and I would totally do rainbow because rainbow). Lighting really does nice things for brains. My parents have some really nice light setups (with normal lights) in the house common areas and while they're a pain in the system to turn on and off, the effect is really pleasing.

>(and I would totally do rainbow because rainbow) one of my colleagues has every room lit with a different colour at night.. that would drive my crazy :D I think there were studies done on how to get the most productivity out of workers (flourescents) in the 20 or 30s. Casinos do similar for getting the most money. I think in the home, it is nice to have softer and indirect lighting- it also saves on the need to clean as well.
