The story I am now telling is true and unbelievable. Working in the hospital as a nurse we use to move to different areas like surgery, medical, icu wards monthly. This is about working in maternity, which I loved as much as children ward. One night a woman came in, in very early labour. The doctor said he was so sorry but there was no way to stop this baby from being born. Remember I am now talking about 1968. </p> <p>Medicine has changed so much since then that if I had to go there now I think I would feel like an untrained person. This baby was born, and the doctor put it in a kidney dish, it was still so small and he went on helping the mother. We were all running around because she was not in good health. When I passed the kidney dish, I could swear the baby was breathing. I told the doctor, and he said it was impossible. The baby was much too small to survive, but he still had a look. Well I was right, and all the attention was turned to the baby. </p> <p>We got an incubator and the baby was put in there. The doctor told the mother not to get her hopes up,as this baby does not really stand a chance of surviving. Being the size of a kidney dish is actually unreal. We all tried our best for this little darling with not much hope. I still can’t believe it, but he made it…. with lots of effort from us, but most of all from him and lots of prayers. Today he is an enormous man of over six feet. Never say anything is impossible because I can assure you with the help from many and above everything is possible. I have many more stories which I will tell each day. Some hilarious, some sad, but you never forget them no matter how old you become. </p> <p><img src="https://imgoat.com/uploads/f4922f4556/17897.gif" width="504" height="190"/></p> </html>
