Man, I love this post! I felt the same way about few things over my life, but at the end, the concept of subjective reality always kicks in and I start to analyse what I believe in. Right now I actually think you should believe in what could be productive and positive for you, some of the ideas of self-help could fit in that category but there are few things I cant accept (like anything metaphysical). I think you will like it, just try not to categorize it as self help right away :)
