I would like to point out that the make up tutorial received more awards than normal due to the larger amount of rewards available from the hack.  I'm not saying it did or didn't deserve that much, but it's a factor to consider as to why it received so much rewards.  

My guess is that if it were on a normal 'Steemit' day, i.e. no hack, that post would probably have received half of that content instead.  But would people have been complaining about a 15k make up tutorial post?  I dunno, nor does it matter, as quality content will naturally rise to the top (which I think that was!).

Now, I don't disagree with people creating marketing materials on how to create better posts for the Steem blockchain and whales continuing to encourage them to do so.  

As for me, I'm focusing my efforts on building different communities.  

I hope that other users will begin to create their own mini-communities to explore the potential of the blockchain (and that others will also support the best content in these mini-communities).

I agree whole-heartedly with the content of your post about the 'show up and receive a medal' mentality.
