Find someone who knows you personally. The recovery mechanism is all about trust. You should be able to prove that "you are you" when it comes to recovery.

Good advice.  This is how I was going to do it I just wanted to know if @blocktrades was going to provide this service... truth be told maybe I shouldn't be so willing to link my phone number and email to my Steem account on a centralized database.

You could always trust yourself by setting one of your alts as recovery.

It is about having control of your own money, after all.
