The last pre hardfork posts would end somewhere at that payout level. Looks like a developement booboo to me.

I suspect the first post-fork posts won't do much better. And yes, it was a design choice, allowing back-end demands making their way into the user domain, which could and should have been avoided. The "claim rewards" button is similar in this, it doesn't appear to have any use for us users but it still made its way into the user interface because it was easier for the back-end people. Less disturbing than the rewards fuck-up, though.

There must be some other use for the "claim rewards' button. Like accepting the shared rewards for a post. But I do miss a "decline rewards" to accompany that one. Or 'burn Steem', to support deflation. The post hardfork of 1718 post payout rewards will take about 5 weeks to be fully up Steem, I think. They'll improve by the week. The pre hardfork of 1718 posts should have stayed on the old reward pool payout system. And I agree that this probably could/ should have been avoided. But we're only human and we make mistakes, yet it is also good to admit when it does. Ah well, I guess we took one for the team... Aaaaaand moving on!
