Great overview of an important topic - I'm very concerned, as many people are, about the trend lately for intense anger that gets stoked up on the internet, a digital mob with metaphorical torches and pitchforks - all it takes is an accusation to create chaos. It seems online that "innocent before proven guilty" does not apply... well, I sure wish it would.

This isn't new. It was previously called a "lynch mob". Digital lynch mobs form now and if anything social media helps facilitate the formation. AI of course is now used to present "fake facts" and to promote "constructed world views" via "fake news" and even if the news is real the news could be a hoax, a scheme, etc. The rules of the game are constantly changing in ways none of us fully understand. Be careful.
