Actually I agree. At the moment, the site basically exists to promote itself. Every organism does the same thing, though, in order to survive and compete. In this sense, an overabundance of self-reflection can be a curse int he early stages of any endeavor. I view the action of writing to promote Steemit in a similar light as I would view conscripted, uniformed and brainwashed soldiers fighting to preserve "freedom". Paradoxical, but perhaps necessary to give a more humane and democratic government a fighting chance in the early stages.

I don't have a problem with fluff pieces at this stage, it's just that people should not call their brothers-in-arms names for doing things that need to be done in the best interest of the site, such as call out people that are copying and pasting, or catfishing. The site can do perfectly well without condoning those activities. The foundation for the future is being set now. It's a rather libertarian crypto base at the moment, which is fine and reasonable, but people are incentivized by what the whales promote. We can promote best practices and still get to where we want to be. There is more than enough good content here without having to turn a blind eye to fraud. Anyway, we are on the same page. Let's find some other people we can disagree with instead! Just kidding!! Cheers
