All of us are are endowed with one natural talent or the other. However, many of these talents remain hidden for most people and they keep doing things they do not excel in. For the sake of this article, this is the definition of a talent according to Simple English Wikipedia:
> A talent (or gift, or aptitude) is the skill that someone has to do something very well that people usually like and that is difficult. It is an ability that someone is born with.

According to the above definition, one's talent cold be singing, dancing, acting, and so on. So how can you discover your natural gifts or endowments and play to your strengths? These 3 suggestions could help you.

**1. Write down what you enjoy most and do easily:** This is one way to know or discover your talent. Do you love singing all the time. Remember that lots of people struggle to sing, so if you do it easily and like to do it all the time, it could be a talent. So make a list of those activities or skills you love enjoy and can do easily. You could discover your real talent from the list.

**2. Think of how often you do any of the things listed:** This will help you discover your real talent. If you have 6 items on the list and out that, you do number 3 everyday and enjoy it more than the rest, that could be your real talent. if there are some you have passion for but you find it difficult to do them, those ones may not be the real talents you are looking for. So when you remember that you have passion for a particular skill or activity and you do it too often, then you may have the talent in that particular activity.

**3. Consider family talents history:** We all share similar biological makeup with our family members, so it would not be surprising that you have similar talents. There are many real-world examples of the same or similar talents running through a generation. For example, do you have more sports people in your family lineage? Do you have singers or dancers in your family? If you have a grandfather, uncle and or other family members that are actors, maybe you could have the same talent too. It is a big possibility.

Many successful people discovered their talents early in life and worked hard to develop them. If you are a parent and discover that your kid does too well in sports, do not force them to study medicine. Help them to nurture and develop their talents. Its really difficult to excel in what you do not have passion for. Discover your talents today and you are on a pathway to success.
