I don't think for one second you were flagged for the quality of your work. It was just a difference of "opinions" and I believe nobody is immune from that happening to them too. I also understand you getting riled up but please don't let external voices stoke those fires, if you catch my drift. Politics can be a very ugly game at the best of times.

Steemit is a "free market" and is as anarchistic as you can get. In fact, that right there forms a large part of what the blockchain stands for. Stakeholders and their account worth mean a hell of a lot here on Steemit. That's just how the technology of the system works. And to that effect, I feel we either have to like it or lump it.

Just my two cents worth on the matter. I wish you all the best and of course, do hope you stick around, @michelle.gent.

I don't either, now.

I've wrapped my head around a lot of things over the last few days and yes, you're right. I'll like it or lump it and I'm sticking around for now :)

Things have changed, however, but this is no longer bothering me :)

All the best to you too and when can we expect to see your novels on the bookshelves?

the down vote is neither a free market - or a anarchistic principle. People do not seem to understand that.
A down vote is a negative action - a free market is consensus via affirmative action.

You buy a product, and support it - affimative action.

You do not '_unbuy_' a product. (downvot ing _is_ punitive.)

One of the tenets of anarchy ideology - use no force. Down voting _is_ force (imo)

The system is what it it, but lets not fool ourselves that free market forces and anarchic principles are in play.

...Just sayin'

Without getting into the technicalities of the Steemit platform, it clearly states in the whitepaper that SP gives that user influence over the platform. Be it viewed as having a "positive" or "negative" effect depending on whichever side of the fence that individual sits.

There is no central controlling body governing Steemit that dictates whether those actions are appropriately right or wrong. It all boils down to a gigantic mish-mash of differing opinions. The buying of a product has nothing to do with the implications of the voting-based system we have in place here. Therefore, in this particular context, a person's free will to accept or reject another's decision based on their personal belief in what is right or wrong constitutes a "free market" in my book. I'm not saying the system is perfect, but it is what it is. In fact, it is so "free" that we even have the option to leave or stay on the platform if we so choose to.

So while we may agree or disagree with the order of power and authority when it comes to operations concerning Steemit, everything is taking place within a pre-defined set of rules and constructs that preside over Steemit.

Just my opinion.

My view on this is:

A mall full of stores, all selling different items.

One guy doesn't like the bookstore because he just doesn't read fiction so his action is to close it down so no one can buy from it and he wanders away happy.

Rather than taking a look, saying, "Nah, not for me," and jogging on, leaving everyone else to browse.

If you don't like something posted here, mute the poster and jog on.

...I agree with pretty much everything you say...

>Therefore, in this particular context, a person's free will to accept or reject another's decision based on their personal belief in what is right or wrong constitutes a "free market" in my book.

You see the subtle ( but massive) difference ?

A free market does _not punish_, (use of force) it _just promotes_

Any 'punishment' is incidental in a free market (not buying or using services, for example), it is _not_ an intended action.. (like down voting)

Like I say, a subtle difference, but very different.

Like we say, it is what it is.

Steem on!
