Talk about bad time to leave, at the bottom! lol I wonder who is leaving, i did not even hear about it??

I saw the post and know who you mean. I'm not leaving either, not a chance!

I have two thoughts about leaving.  

**Expected or Unexpected**
Sometimes "leaving" is unexpected.  There is a life event that takes over, which causes something to give - sometimes that is the Steem community.  

Sometimes people plan their exit, which in that case I would hope they would be willing to say proper goodbyes. 

**Temporary or Forever**
I have had to "leave" Steem for weeks at a time, but I have always come back.  Sometimes taking a step back gives us a new found appreciation for what we have.  "Absence makes the heart grow fonder."

But to leave for good, at this stage of the game, is immature.  I agree that there is a party or two yet to come.

Will blogging be the future of Steem?  Maybe yes.  Maybe no.  I can still participate, even if the main activity that brought me here is not the main focus anymore.

Nothing wrong in saying good bye. If you left, I would question your reasons (not the ones you state in the post, but the ones behind it), the way you announce it and what you mention in that good bye post (and what you cunningly leave out).

I know you maybe not as much as an irl friend but, enough to perhaps be angry at you for not saying goodbye (rude dude, wtf?) but also enough to criticize you for the way you go through this "season finale" of yours.

But then again, if we are worhty enough to know why you are leaving, do we really need to find out about it on a post? I could just receive a Telegram message or a whatsapp group update. And if we are not, is it really worthy to make a post about it? 

Food for thought. I just know that, the moment I stop being bullish about Steem, and the day I decide to leave, I won´t trash talk about it on a post or shill other projects. I will just leave. If I´m thinking about the summer and the beach hotties, there´s no need to make a loud exit, at least for me.

Haha. But you are right. It's not just steem/Steemit it's the whole shebang. The thing it often exposes is the false front that these people put up to get in on a site driven (initially) be rewards.

I think the role you have played also makes a difference.

If you feel that your words may have influenced some and now you have new information, it would be important to me to ensure that I had let my following know.  Trust matters to me.

I think it would just be like a bad break up. Everybody mad at the person even though I'm sure there are reasons behind it. For me I wouldn't quit. I might take a break for 6 months and see how things pan out but for someone who has put as much in as the one leaving I think it's madness to leave altogether. We have issues here but there is a lot of good too and hopefully a big future. Seems like such a waste.

When steem hits 5 bucks they'll be back.

You would be easy to find anyway lol. The only guy floating around on a pink lilo. I think it would be difficult to just leave. If you are earning upwards of 100-200 Steem per week you would be crazy. The party hasn't even started yet so why throw away everything you have worked so hard for. If I disappeared for a day or two you need to send out a search party lol. Saying goodbye means you are somewhat decent as it is manners and showing respect. Enough said.

Now that you mention, I can think of someone we both know although it wasn't a good by post according to the user, it was more like a taking a break post which leaves room to return. 
Many people have disappeared without saying a word and i was wondering what's happened to them. I guess it depends on the person. I could not cash out and leave without saying a word. I have plenty friends here who would be wondering what's happened to me. What I have even more is those who are saying good bye every two month 😁  I can't respect those. I expect people to keep their word. 
So let's return to our mutton, I see @cicisaja has already threatened you, so don't you dare to disappear, you're not allowed! 😁
