Greetings Steemlings!

I’m new ‘round these parts (perhaps obviously), and wanted to say “hello.” I’m still very much figuring out my way around, exploring how everything works, so please bear with me in that.

A few things about myself: I’m an artist/music person/writer. So likely a lot of what I’ll be contributing up in these parts will revolve around one or another of those zones. I’ve actually got a notion to try and do a weekly series of a type that’ll zero in on something specific to profile — working on getting the first one of those in the can as we speak, which hopefully I’ll have up by next week or so.
 
Does anyone have any feedback about this? Is it something people would be interested in? Probably that’s something that depends on 

Also, I’d welcome any navigational tips or suggestions of any kind really. I’ve done a review of some of the guides, and it’s a pretty cool place up in here, but it can a bit confusing too for a newbie like myself, as crypto is pretty novel to me as well though I have somewhat of an understand about it.

Hi; first: post every day, and go to other posts and leave comments. Never lose your password or you won't be able to get back on. It might take a while before you make a lot of followers so just keep on going and eventually you'll get there. Don't just do a video and  a line or words; it's better to leave something longer for people to read and comment about. That's about it for now, but there's lots more but best to do some posts first. 1. **Keep your passwords safe:** Unlike conventional sites, Steemit has 4 types of passwords. Each offers varying degrees of access to your account, so know where and when to use each of them. Also, make sure to keep them all safe and secure.
2. **Get Steem rewards:** When writing a post, you'll have the option to choose how to receive your reward: "Default 50%/50%" or "Power Up 100%". As of this moment, choosing Default 50%/50% is the better option. But this can change over time. Check our post to know more.
3. **Upvote wisely:** When upvoting, wait at least 30 minutes after the post is published to maximize your curation reward. Also, make sure not to upvote too much too fast so as not to drain your voting power.
4. **Know your Steem, Steem Dollars and Steem Power:** Steem and Steem Dollars are the 2 main currencies here. Convert and power up more Steem into Steem Power so you can have higher values on your upvotes.
