The news was worse than I suspected. I need fillings on almost every tooth on the top and at least two root canals. It is a little embarrassing but it is what it is.<\/p>The cost of everything I need to get done is shocking and I am not certain how I will be able to raise the funds to do it. I had an idea for a new kind of dental insurance for Steemians, if we could raise a few million dollars worth of Steem Power and create a Dental upvote account, then when users needed work done they could write a proposal for the work they need done.<\/p>If accepted the Dental account could upvote the appropriate amount and the user would be able to pay for their dental work.<\/p>This idea is a long shot- I am not certain if it would be feasible to create such a program- however I believe anything is possible and if we want it then we can create it.<\/p>This condition campaign has three goals, and if Steemians like you believe in the concept enough then we can make it a reality!<\/p>The first goal is my immediate bill of 1253 in just 66 days. I need to get the first root canal done April 1st 2019 (just to be funny the receptionist said), and I gave myself a little time to work and save for it. In the meantime I am in agony and the T3s my dentist prescribed for the pain make me feel just as bad as without. I am having trouble eating and the toothache comes in waves.<\/p>The second goal is the total balance for the rest of the work, 4846 or 6100 total. This includes 19 more individual procedures to fix cavities and add fillings. If I reach this fundition goal not only will I find relief but it will prove that Steemit can fundraise worthy real life causes for those in need. It will show that a steemit dental program is possible. A dental insurance program that is fair and generous seems like something that could exist on Steemit. That is correct, you have to get different third-party dental coverage but in all my research it seems that no matter what I still have to pay just as much even if I get dental coverage, it will not offset the cost.

 In some cases it limits what I can use in a year so even if I pay $1,000 for a dental plan I may only only be able to use less than that towards a procedure. 

The best situation is when you get a job and the job gives you dental coverage, so that it is their business that pays for your work. Or if you get dental coverage, just in case you need dental work. Then you have it when you need it but you still pay for the coverage, and in my case it seems I will just need to make the money and pay the dentist.

Have you checked if the price is reasonable? Maybe your dentist is scamming you.. ._. Here in Germany, the dentist is cheaper, the healthcare system doesn't take care of all the costs...^^

Good luck. Tooth pain is the worst. It’s so easy to let stuff slide and for it to get out of hand. Here in Australia there are dental teaching hospital clinics that will do this type of thing for free or nearly free but there is always s wait list. I had 2 root canals done with this system when I was at university myself.
