Preparing for a mess

We have taken a big step.

A step that was not taken lightly.

One that will turn our appartment into a giant mess.

But...

one that will hopefully bring us loads of joyous moments and one that surely will force me to get out more.

We have gotten ourselves a dog.  A small (for now) little white female Labrador.

I have grown up with dogs and I found that they really have a good influence on us humans.  They are not for nothing mans best friend.  So I am sure that this decision will bring on extra responsibilities but also a lot more moments of happiness and companionship.

The little lady arrives in 3 weeks and we were lucky to find a pet store where the owner was going into retirement and they were having a massive sale giving 60% off.  That helped out massively with our budget and we got a bunch of toys and a sleeping place and one of those cages to put in the trunk of the car for safe transport.

Awww what a cuttie. I'm a cat person if I'm honest... but I don't dislike dogs... that would be insane. My best friend had a jack russel when I was a kid and that dog was awesome. It never ran out of energy and would fight anything in sight, up to and including Rottweiler. I loved that little crazy bundle of joy. 

Good luck with the new addition to the family... remember dogs are pack animals so you need to establish yourselves as leaders of the pack early on lol 

I see so many people molly coddling dogs like they're spoiling a child and it winds me up cause it's really not healthy for the dog psychologically.

I know as a previous dog owner that I will have to be the Alpha and settle that from the beginning or the animal will have its way with us

As being a dog-LOVER myself I am totally bummed out by not being able to have one at the moment (time nor space) so seeing this little rascal makes me kind of envious... indeed these dogs bring out the best in humans as well, and your guys are gonna have such nice hikes together there in the hills!
